16 Houses at The Paddock

In the last few days the detail of the proposed 16 houses on The Paddock has been uploaded to the Harrogate Planning Portal. (ref – 20/04111/REMMAJ).
The Parish Council has also been asked for its response from HBC, so we will discuss this at our next meeting (23/11).
We have been holding these meetings over Zoom recently, which doesn’t really give us the same opportunity for people in the village to join in.
So because of that, I was hoping you would be able to send me any comments, thoughts and opinions you have on the proposed development so we can prepare a response that reflects the general feeling of the village.
Please send these to  patrickjamessanderson@gmail.com
Thanks

New Parish Councillors Required

Over the past few years the Marton-Le-Moor Parish Council has been responsible for the completion of a significant number of Village projects.

Members of the Parish Council have instigated the creation of the Playing Field, the Village Gateways, the overhaul of the Churchyard, the establishment of the Superfast Broadband connection and the installation of the Defibrillator.

The responsibility for grass cutting has also been taken back from North Yorkshire County Council and extended to include the verges that lead into the Village. We hope you agree that the Village is looking much better for these and many other efforts.

Recently we have seen 2 members of the Parish Council step down, leaving Council with just three members: Barrie Wilkinson, Adrian Shaw and Patrick Sanderson.

If the number of Councillors reduces any further the Council’s responsibilities could end up back with Harrogate Borough Council. We are sure most would agree that this outcome would have a detrimental effect on the upkeep of the Village and the ability to plan, fund and complete future projects.

So, your Village needs you!

We are hoping that residents can step forward and join the Parish Council. We meet 4 times a year, for just a couple of hours to discuss issues facing the Village and ways in which we can help make Marton-Le-Moor a better place.

Our next meeting is the 23th of November at 7pm. We are currently holding meetings over Zoom due to Covid-19.

We would be delighted to hear from anyone interested in joining us so we can explain the role further.

Marton-le-Moor Corona Virus Help Update – 26th March 2020

During this time of uncertainty we would like to provide you with a list of people who you can call upon should you be worried or unable to leave you home. We are here to listen and assist with such things as food shopping, prescription collections or for a chat. You are not alone!!

Where possible we are requesting you contact one of the coordinates below to let them have your email address / contact details and whether you are in full self-isolation.  This will allow us to get messages out to as many as possible in the village and coordinate the village response to those in most need.

In the future we hope to facilitate some social distancing activities to help with everyone’s mental health and any suggestions / volunteers would be welcome.
